That’s when I feel most happy and most inspired. Travelling offers so much in the way of experience and perspective to me. It truly broadens the mind.

When I was a Corporate career girl, my idea of holiday heaven would be to spend a week in a luxury hotel in the Caribbean, lounging by the pool, at the spa, or reading a book at the beach. No need ever to leave the Hotel. Those holidays served their purpose – it really was the only time in the year where I would truly switch off from work, a chance to recharge. Well I say truly….. but you don’t ever ‘truly’ switch off do you? You make a promise to yourself to check emails for no more than an hour a day – otherwise, you know that when you return to work you will have a backlog of 600 waiting for you. And the memories of your holiday wiped out by lunchtime on the first day.  The one hour per day ‘maintenance’, I always felt – helped me to at least manage the overwhelm on the first day back into the office.

These days, the idea of a week lounging by the pool does not inspire me at all. Don’t get me wrong. I still enjoy beautiful hotels and I will always love the ocean and the white sandy beaches. But for a week to 10 days, definitely not. I have to get out there with my camera and ‘feel’ the magic of the place. I need to really experience the energy, to visit the local market, interact with the local people, try some of the street foods, observe the family interactions and the cultural differences. I just love it.

So in this part of my website, I invite you to join me on my travels and experience the world ‘through my eyes’.

I don’t profess to be a professional photographer, nor a tour guide, nor a food critic.
