I’m excited – the Christmas tree is up, the cards are written, gifts are wrapped and I’m all set. Woohooo!! I set the intention this year to get everything done before the end of November so I can simply enjoy the ‘vibe’ throughout December.
It feels good to have the time to do all things ‘Christmassy’ – things that always seemed stressful in my former/corporate life. And of course, whilst I did have a tree last year, I didn’t actually have any furniture in the room it was displayed. But thankfully, things have moved on!
Logan and I had our ‘Christmas jumper’ day at the weekend and after a visit to see Santa, came home to decorate the tree and indulge in some themed nibbles whilst the Christmas tunes played in the background. Oh, and let’s not forget those letters to Santa. We had so much fun.
So here we are in the finishing stretch of 2022 and what another challenging year it has been. Whilst Covid has been less prevalent this year, there has still been much to contend with – including a very current cost of living crisis and a war in Ukraine.
But I remain optimistic that we will finally turn the corner in 2023.
We have to be optimistic don’t we, otherwise how else would we go on?
Now I know that you will all be writing your letter to Santa in the coming weeks 🤣 so I wanted to remind you (if you haven’t done so already) to ask him to bring back your SPARKLE.
NO – I don’t mean glittery tops and cinderella shoes (of course you can have those too) but what I’m really talking about here is that feeling, that energy, that sense of sheer joy … when you have a spring in your step, a sparkle in your eye and can’t wait to welcome each new day.
You know the feeling I’m talking about, don’t you?
You may not live with it every day, but you have experienced it, I’m sure.
Maybe it’s when you were in the first weeks or months of a new romance. Or when you first discovered your dream home on-line and knew instantly it was ‘the one’. Perhaps it is the feeling you get when your own child (or one you are especially close to), leaves a little note to say that they love you. Or maybe you experienced it when you travelled somewhere new and were inspired by the breath-taking beauty of the landscape.
It’s a feeling:
- Of excitement
- Of pure joy
- Of gratitude & appreciation
A feeling that converts to a way of being.
You just can’t beat it.
And when you have it, people notice.
They will notice the change in your posture, and your energy.
They will see the sparkle in your eyes.
They will probably ask if you have had your hair done, because they can see that ‘something’ is different though they can’t quite put their finger on what it is ✨
When The Diamond Life Project was born, my goal was to design a life in which I ‘sparkle’ every single day. Now let me be the first to admit, I don’t – not every day. But the more I commit to spending time doing the things I love, and with the people I care most about, the more natural and frequent that feeling becomes.
And how about you?
- What is it that makes you sparkle?
- When do you feel most alive?
- When was the last time you experienced that feeling of true joy?
- What is it that if you didn’t have to worry about what others would say, or how much you would earn, you would choose to devote your time to?
- Is there a way to bring more of that into your life right now?
Maybe you can start thinking about it now so that you are ready to implement changes in the new year.
You won’t regret it, I promise you.
Sparkle is for life, not just for Christmas.
x Until next time, sending you love x
I would love to get to know you more, connect with me here.
