Are you all set for 2020?


I’ve seen a lot of posts over the last 2 weeks about New Years’ resolutions and goal setting for 2020.  Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of goal setting ….. I’ve done it every year for at least the last 20!

But a couple of years ago, someone offered an alternative (and very powerful) approach.



Instead of focusing on what you will ACHIEVE in 2020, how about focusing on what to LEAVE BEHIND in 2019.



Maybe it’s a specific incident…. you can leave it behind and never speak of it again.



Maybe it’s a person … a failed relationship?  Or a toxic friendship?



Or a limiting belief?  Imagine how things could transform if you left behind the belief – “I’m not smart enough”, “I’m not good enough”, Or another “I’m too old”…



What is the belief that has been holding YOU back?



Well now you can make a choice …. to leave it behind.   
Don’t ever allow that thought or belief (or thoughts of that person) to see the light of day again (don’t even let it/them enter your thoughts).



Just leave it behind and start afresh.  Each time it pops up … just notice, say – there’s that thought 💭 – but it’s sooooo last decade!



And let it go.



You won’t believe how powerful this is.   Just choose one ‘thing’, one belief, behaviour or pattern and make the decision today to leave it behind.

2020 Balloons

Something that we have talked about before and I’d like to remind you of as we start out in the new year is that YOU are responsible for the shape of your own life.



You can control your own destiny by the decisions you make each and every day.



Life is a game.  How much fun you have and what rewards you will reap at the end of it, is totally dependent on how you play.  Give it your best effort every step of the way and you will sort your life, achieve your dreams and have fun in the process.



Make a commitment to yourself this year to look, feel, and be the best you can.



And stop with the excuses!   One really important habit that will help to keep you on track in creating your best life is to relieve yourself of exuse-itis.



Excuses come in many different forms and phrases, but we all make them every day as a way to avoid certain things.  Maybe there are things you want to do but don’t have the motivation to follow through on, or perhaps you make excuses because you are scared to take that next step.



Either way they are the number one reason you are being held back from living the life you want. So, if you are making excuses about why you can’t have the life that you want, stop now.



Change happens the INSTANT you decide.  Really decide.



Decide now, and make it happen.  Take responsibility.



It’s YOUR life.  No more excuses!
