Well this is it!  We are now in the final quarter of 2018.

Have you achieved all that you planned to at the start of the year?

Linda Thomson

As we march through the final weeks of the year, I recommend that you go back to your old notebook and take another look at what you defined as your goals for 2018.

Where are you now vs where you had planned to be at the start of the year?

  • Well on your way?
  • Making good progress?
  • Barely started?

If you are not on track to achieving your goals, why is that?  Have things changed?  They are no longer important?

Too busy?

I saw a post this week and it struck a chord, so I thought I would share it with you here.

Instead of saying “I don’t have time, try saying “It is not a priority “
See how that feels for you…

I still have a few things on my 2018 TO DO list and when I revisit them with the mindset… “It is not a priority” – I feel a little bit sick to the stomach.  You see, this statement reminds me that WE are each responsible for our own lives, we are each in control of our destiny and whether we do or we don’t – that’s down to us.

By taking responsibility for our own lives, we get to choose what is important to us.

So, take a look at what you committed to achieve this year.  And if you haven’t done it yet – just ask yourself why.  See if it sits comfortably with you to accept “It is not a priority” and that being the case, take it off your list.

If it is important to you, then acknowledge it IS a priority and take steps to do something about it with the time left to year end.

In my coaching business, I help women to overcome their fears and find the courage & confidence to live their BEST, most rewarding & fulfilling lives.  But what I often notice is that where my clients are not living their BEST lives, it is not because their dreams are too big, their ideas not carefully thought through, or that they are not good enough.  Often, it is merely down to the excuses they make up – excuses which hold them back from pursuing their dreams.

Desk

In order to achieve our goals and to live our most rewarding, most fulfilling lives, we are often pushed to step way outside of our comfort zone, but as humans we’re wired to fear the unknown.

We feel scared and stuck, and we start coming up with excuses as to why we can’t go for it. Whether it’s lack of time, money, resources or ability, excuses are the ultimate dream killers!

The secret is to understand that this is simply a mindset issue, and more often than not, they are not valid enough to actually stop you from achieving your objectives. You simply need to overcome this block with clarity, conviction and commitment to taking 100% responsibility for your life.

So if you’re ready to start taking responsibility and to move your life forward in the direction you want it to go, here’s 3 things you need to address:

1. Get clear on what you want.

Gaining clarity around your goals and objectives will make it easier to find a way to get there. Understand and outline exactly what it is you’re trying to achieve and then give yourself permission to actually do what it takes to get there! Once you’ve set your excuses aside, the path becomes slowly clearer and easier.

2. Stop the excuses!

They’re certainly not making anything easier or helping you make any progress. Make a list of the excuses you think are holding you back and find a way to approach them differently. Even small changes in the way you’re doing things can lead to big results.

3. Eliminate that limiting belief
Stretch the limits of what you think is possible. More often than not the biggest obstacle in your way is mindset. So many of us hold ourselves back because we don’t think we’re capable. If you’re really clear on what you want to achieve and you’re taking responsibility, you can find a way around even the biggest challenges. A simple attitude change can work wonders to help you find a way to make it possible.

Don’t waste another moment. There’s only 11 weeks left to year-end.
