I meet a lot of women who tell me that they feel ‘stuck’.

They feel as though they are going through the motions but not really living life, and certainly not loving it.

They are doing what they have to, in order to get through each day but nothing much more than that.

waving a magic wand

Wouldn’t it be great if we could wave a magic wand and in a single instant have all that we desired?

Or would it?

Having everything you ever wanted would leave little room for all the new and exciting experiences that come with desire and longing.

Each and every experience that you have in life is an important one.  But without seeing the contrasts that life offers, it would be difficult to know what you really want.

Consider if every day were sunny.  How would you know how refreshing the rain feels after a very humid day?  I spent a few weeks in Singapore while I lived in Asia and the sun shone every day.  For 2 weeks it felt great, but by the time I left, I just knew that wherever I lived in the future – I needed to live somewhere with seasons!

You see…. life requires contrasts to allow you to find your way.

We all go through life’s ups and down.   But how much you learn from each experience will dictate how often will you repeat them. Learning to accept that you are unable to change some situations in life will make the game more enjoyable.  Spending time and energy on trying to change people and situations that you cannot control, only leads to frustration and resentment.

As I have talked about before, one of the most important lessons to learn is that you are fully responsible for the shape of your own life and that you are able to control your own destiny by the decisions you take each and every day.

Looking for the positive aspects of any situation makes you feel better about everything you do.  If you practice looking at what you want from each situation, you will – over time, come to expect that you will get what you want.  It takes a conscious effort for it to become a way of life.  Always remember that it takes six weeks of constantly doing something in the same way for it to become a habit.  Each time you lapse into old ways of thinking, you must consciously start the process over again

Umbrella and rain

Life is a game.  How much fun you have and what rewards you will reap at the end of it, is totally dependent on how you play.  Give it your best effort every step of the way and you will sort your life, achieve your dreams and have fun in the process.

Make a commitment to yourself to feel, look and be the BEST version of you.

And stop with the excuses!   One really important habit that will help to keep you on track in creating your best life is to relieve yourself of excuse-itis.

Excuses come in many different forms and phrases, but we all make them every day as a way to avoid certain things.  Maybe there are things you want to do but don’t have the motivation to follow through on, or perhaps you make excuses because you are scared to take that next step. Either way they are the number one reason you are being held back from living the life you want.   So, if you are making excuses about why you can’t have the life that you want, stop now.

Change happens the INSTANT you decide.  Really decide.

Decide now, and make it happen.  Take responsibility.

It’s YOUR life.  No more excuses!
