The nights are drawing in, the kids are back at school, there’s a noticeable chill in the air, and the leaves on the trees are starting to change.
It can all only mean one thing – Autumn has officially arrived!
Autumn /Fall is all about CHANGE. The season is changing.
The weather (in most places) is changing. The trees are shedding their leaves.

Change is all around us and it’s deliciously intoxicating. Though many people agree that the New Year is a time for a change, I believe that Autumn provides a great time for reflection. It’s a chance to look back and assess how far you have come.
How are you feeling about 2017? Have you achieved all that you set out to at the start of the year? Or have you been dragged along by the current of life, tending to the needs of others and sharing your time between work, home, family, friends, and a multitude of other obligations? Did you even start the year with an intention?
If you are ready to make a conscious decision about how this year will end for you …. or indeed to shake things up so that you can start the new year with more clarity, determination, and focus than ever before – then you may well benefit from my 60-Minute Breakthrough Session. (See details below).
In the meantime, I thought I might just share with you a few reasons why I love this particular season:
The Colours
I love, love, love the colour of Autumn. And especially here in Scotland.
My home is located in a conservation village which means ‘construction’ is limited and so we still benefit from lots of ‘green space’ around us. I have to drive through a ‘canopy’ of trees to reach the main road and there is nothing more beautiful than watching the leaves change steadily from green to yellow, to orange, to deep red.
The Smell
For me, Autumn is the only season with its own distinctive smell.
There’s the smell of wet leaves and damp earth. Of cinnamon, apples, and pumpkins. And of course, that smoky fragrance. When I was growing up, coal fires were the norm, and Autumn is the season when that familiar smell would waft into the cold morning air. There aren’t so many coal fires these days but I do have a favourite candle I like to burn in Autumn/Winter to recreate that smell and recapture those memories. The fragrance – ‘burning embers’.

Playtime
In Autumn, you can be a kid again and no one cares.
If you love this time of year, there’s nothing like the sound of leaves crinkling and breaking underneath your feet. No matter how old I get, I never grow tired of that sound. And then there’s that moment, where you just can’t help yourself and with a childlike exuberance – you kick those leaves high up into the air.
Great TV
Autumn signals the absolute best time for TV. There are so many great dramas and new TV series at this time of year, it can be quite a challenge choosing which ones to follow.
Sheer Indulgence
Autumn signals the arrival of Pumpkin Spice and Toffee Nut lattes at Starbuck’s. I know I shouldn’t …. and I do try to limit them now. But seriously, these drinks are delicious and I have waited 9 months for them to arrive!
Countdown to Christmas
The end of summer can be a bit disheartening, but there’s one simple fact that can cheer us up – Christmas is just around the corner.
87 days to go. Just saying!
Now as I mentioned above, the arrival of Autumn, signals a time of change and as the trees start to shed their leaves, I invite you to consider whether this might be a good time to let some things go too. Some old limiting beliefs perhaps? Or some toxic friends who add no value in your life? If you are ready to let go of the things in your life that are holding you back from living your best life, then I invite you to get in touch and book your 60 Minute Breakthrough session.
This is a Limited Time offering available whilst I pursue a new/professional accreditation so be sure to take advantage.
Let me know what you love about Autumn.
